85 TD A/c problem

I thought I was so smart, tracing and fixing the a/c problem on my 1984 TD. Then I realize my 85 TD has a different system; a Klima system.
Replaced compressor, receiver-dryer and clutch - all were bad. New switches in the receiver -dryer. Mechanic pulled a vacuum and cleaned out the system and recharged with R134.
A/c ran fine for a while now won't come back on. He suggests the Klima relay under the fuse box. $240.
My question: Which socket contacts on the Klima relay can I jumper to engage the compressor clutch as a test?
Does the 85 TD have a climate sensor unit behind the glove box, like the 84, or is all that stuff on the Klima board?
Any other suggestions?

There is a temperature controller and fan speed controller behind the glovebox.

I put an '83 engine/tranny in my '85 car and after that the compressor would not come on. There are a couple pins that you can "jump" at the Klima to make the system work. I have been advised by a very knowledgeable forum member against running this "jumper" permanently because I may mess up the pushbutton unit. I have a good, spare pushbutton unit so I'm not too worried about messing up the one I am currently running. I will post which pins I jumpered later but you will be doing it at your own risk. I did it a few months ago and have not had any problems since.

On the 1985 car, does the tachometer work? IF not then the "klima" relay won't turn the compressor on either.
That car has an over-voltage relay to power up the EDS computer that processes the flywheel speed sensor.

hmmm, interesting on the tach. Mine does not work.

The tach has never worked, but the Klima came on when the new system parts were installed and the system recharged. I would be very interested in learning the pin jumper technique, especially since the a/c season only has two months to run.

I posted the pins I jumped here. Two small strands of copper is all it takes.
