2003 clk 430 convertible - Has anyone noticed a discoloration of the trim around the winshield, windows and the convertible top after taking the car through a car wash?

That's very common. About all you can do is clean it up after you go thru the wash or,,,,, don't ever take it thru the car wash again. That trim is some weird stuff. If you keep it long enough you will notice it will change color from black to a dark bronze color. I have often wondered how they do that and was it intentional.:confused:

GM has a service bulletin that in some types of car washes the chemicles can warp their windshields.

Point is commercial car washes are a distant second to hand washing
