CL 500 info
I'm looking to purchase a '00/'01 CL 500 and have been told by dealers that if I do my own oil changes that the car must be brought in to the dealer to reset something or other or clear a code. Is this true and if so, how can I do this myself? Also, where can I purchase the Mercedes shop manual for this car. I do virtually all the work on cars I have ever owned and would like to continue this with the CL 500. Never owning a Mercedes and talking with other people, I'm not sure this is possible. Any info would be greatly appreciated. One other question, are there any typical problems with the CL500 that I should be aware of before purchase? Many thanks.

The servicing reset can be done from the instrument cluster without special tools.
The concept of service manual has evolved and can be had for $20 a day here: www.startekinfo.com
