91 300 SEL Climate Contro Problem
Hello everyone. Newbie to this forum but experienced in others. Searched the posts but could not find anything helpful.
Problem: Climate controls do not work. Seems like there is no power there. No heat, AC, or fan. Any ideas? There must be a source power fuse somewhere, but where? Thanks.

Replace fuse #5. At the very least remove and replace the old fuse. Don't just give it a visual inpsection.
The fuse box is in the engine compartment ahead of the brake master cylinder (US spec cars, anyway). Flip the tab forward and lift the lid from the front. If it didn't occur to you to check the fuses right away, replace all the fuses. The type of fuse MB uses in these cars deteriorates over time. 12 years is a long life for these fuses. It'll cost you less than $5 to get all the fuses you need from FastLane. Sixto 95 S420 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |

Thanks for the reply Sixto. I did check the fuses visually and all looked OK. Reading the fuse list on the cover I did not see anything relating to the AC or heat. I take it that a visual won't cut it? Tomorrow will replace the fuses. Thanks.

#5 should say climate control somewhere in the thousand other things listed.

Thanks again Sixto! It was the #5. Can't believe I didn't read the cover right the first time. Guess that's why I am not a mechanic!! lol.
