Instrument Needle Calibration

Hello, I am planning to repaint the guage needles in my instrument cluster as they have faded considerably and are a mixture of yellow in some parts and orange in others. I know how to do everything, I just have a question (and perhaps it is silly but I'll ask anyways) - I'm wondering if the added weight of the paint on the needles could affect the calibration of the guages. I won't remove the needles as I've heard this can mess things up, but I just wanna be sure that the extra paint on them won't cause issues either. Is this a factor to be concerned with? I am doing this on a 1989 260E. Thanks for any info.
