I was noticed today that my A/C cooled well when moving but not at a stop. I checked fans at front and with A/c running none were running. Is this correct? I did hear one fan run as the car was getting warm setting still, I don't know which fan was running as it stopped by the time I got the hood up.

If bad is this an easy repair, common for fan to fail or sensor?

thanks

The most common problem here is the for the fuse that is in the top of the green relay to fail. To check you will have to take the top off of the fuse panel. You will have to take off the lid and the 6 screws that hold the cover on. Replace the 15a fuse with a 20.

Thanks Benzmac!! You were right the fuse was blown. Only thing it was a blue relay next to the green one you specified. It had 15A as you described. The green one had a 30A.

Anyways I replaced it w/20A and tried it, but it still did not run (didn't blow it either). Are the running of the fans dependant on outside temp? It was cool outside <70 degrees.

thanks again...jim

The fans run at low speed due to refrigerant pressure switch. The pressure usually gets to the fan cut-in point pretty quickly when its hot out.

If you are low on refrigerant the pressure will stay low even when hot. The proper answer here is to check the switch pressure and verify with A/C gauges for full charge and cut-in pressure.
