A clean bare aluminum requires a zinc-chromate primer, otherwise the paint won't stick.

Hi MB Doc,
Somebody else told me about zinc chromate. Do you know where I can get some, like in the part store or not?

Zinc chromate primer can be usually obtained at a marine supply type outlet or if there is one in your area a specialty paint store or aircraft supply store.

There is a product called Bulldog that can be purchased at the Advance or Autozone in the spray can. Use it for good results on Alum. or plastic. I have used it and it does work.
