1995 S500 w140 A/C problem intermittent
 

On my 1995 S500 w140 with the 119 engine I have developed Air Conditioning gremlins.

The outside temperature is between 85 - 95 degrees. The A/C charge is correct. It has just started exhibiting these symptoms.

Some times the A/C will be running and blowing cold air and then all of a sudden it will shut off completely, no fan, no lights on the controls no temperature indicators. A short time later {1 minute to 15 minutes later} it will come back on all by itself. Sometimes it will not come back on by itself and I will stop the car, turn off the engine and then restart the engine and it will come back on.

Other times the A/C will be running and blowing cold air and then all of a sudden I will hear noises under the dash like flappers closing and hot air will start blowing out of the far right and left dash vents with cold air still blowing out of the center vents.

The A/C might run all day without a problem or it might start acting up immediately upon starting the car.

I have searched the forum, but can not find a similar problem.

Help please.

How about a pic of you 140 with a 190 engine I'm sure many members would like to see this.

First thing to check would be the control panel (push button panel). It can do really strange stuff when going bad.
