I AM LOOKING AT BUYING AN SLC IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

HERE IN UK THE BIGGEST PROBLEM DUE TO THE CLIMATE IS THE DREADED RUST.

COULD ANYONE HELP FROM EXPERIENCE WHICH ARE THE MOST VULNERABLE AREAS ON AN SLC 107 WITH REGARDS TO CORROSION.

THANKS IN ADVANCE JEYUK

The most common affected area on an SLC is in the rear wheel arches. Rocker boxes can be vulnerable as well, but in general they didn't have a horrible problem with corrosion. If there is bubbling in the rear wheel arches, it can usually be repaired, although cutting out the affected metal and replacing it is always the best way to go. Hope this helps!

Aaron,

Do you have any experience in replacing the ugly U.S. issue bumpers on a 1976 450 SLC with european version bumpers? Is this a difficult and expensive conversion? Are there any suppliers of euro bumpers? Thanks.

Bill
