I am going to get an Eclipse 7002 which is a HU with a tv screen. However, the "brain box" is a problem. It connects to the head via a digital cable that is only a certain length long, not long enough to goto the back or trunk. Where in the front (under dash, under seat?, etc.) can I fit this box? It is 7 1/8" x 6 1/8" x 2"; and the area has to be somewhat larger than that because it has to have several sets of RCA cable going to it. 92 300E

This may to thick to go under the back seat, but give it a try. Another place may be suspending it under the package tray in the trunk.

I have quite a bit of electronics under the rear seat of my 123 car. Keep in mind that if you carry passengers in the rear seat very often, you may get a question from them asking what they are sitting on.

Good luck,

My first try would be to research a longer cable assembly. Contact the OE manufacturer. I wouldn't compromise an install just because the cable's too short. Put it this way, you're probably not the first guy (nor last) that requires a longer cable -- I'm sure there's someone out there that can help you obtain a longer cable (or adapter).

You might want to contact Howard Blitz (owner) of Car Acoustics in Campbell, CA. They've done a lot of very custom (and expensive) installs. This should not be unique to him --> 408-866-1250.

Just my 2-cents. Good Luck.

Brian

There is a lot of space under the false floor on the right side . remove the carpets and have a look. I think it will fit there.
