Part Number for Instrument Cluster Hooks?

I am going to buy a set of Instrument Cluster Hooks. Does anyone have the part number. Now that the real parts man at the local MB house got ill and retired, I can't depend on anyone there to look up anything.

Thanks for your help,

Chuck,

Do you know if that part number is for one or for a pair?

Thanks alot for the help,

PS. My job plight has past. The company was finally bought and I start my new job 8/25. I got in just under the wire. LB

Pair

It says "Special Tool" and shows a picture with two hooks, and the P/N. I cannot interpret further.

Congrats on the new job. Must be a relief.

Congrats on the job. When I bought the hooks they came as a pair.

Your parts guy situation is a hair-puller. Recently, we needed a little work on the 'ol Mazda. Our dealer is great with ol cars, but when I walked in, Doug, our trusted service advisor was nowhere to be found. I was in a panic! No one knew our car like Doug. The new service writer looked to be about 12! When we started talking about my car, suddenly he said "Doug knows about those older models." He went into the shop, and presto! out came Doug, in coveralls. He's doing the mechanic thing again. Now he works on the car. Relief...

Larry, they come as a pair!
However many dealers sell only 1 at a time.
Dealer cost on a pair is $ 8.75

Thanks for the help guys. I just got back from the dealer and got a pair. They charged $12. I guess that's a reasonable markup, about 30%.

I need to put in a new speedometer cable. I have pulled the cluster twice before and it's not a pretty job without the hooks. I hope the hooks work as well as I think they will.

Thanks again,

Glad you got your tools Larry...they are also useful for other things...

Discovered (after I got a set) that the lug bolt covers I got for the SL came with a removal tool...the exact same tool as the dash pullers!

So now I have a trio of pullers! :D

I hooked out the instrument cluster with the hooks last night. These things make this a very quick job. Before when I pulled it, the job took time and was frustrating.

There's nothing like having the right tool for the job.

Thanks for the replies,
