560 SEL Will not start
Symtoms - Rough Running for about a week then intermittant climate control failure with blinking light in recirc switch then complete engine failure while driving.
Replaced - Ignition Wires, Cap and Rotor Fuel pump Relay and OVP Relay Strange symptons -With no F Pump Relay and jump between terminals 87 and 30, F pumps work! With new F pump relay installed pumps DO NOT work with key on! Is that weird? Car refuses to start. Any help will be appreciated! What would cause sudden death? Maybe the Coil? I suspect the climate control system since thats what was acting up first. Only problem in 5 years of ownership.

How about the a/c climate control relay. I read some posts the it was tied in some how to the starting circuit? Is that true?
Getting desparate here.

I don't know your exact setup, but the FP relay needs several inputs before it will keep the pumps on. For instance, it needs a signal from the ignition that there is RPM, so if the engine stalls it will shut the pumps off until the key is recycled.
The same signal that is missing from the relay may also be the cause of your rough running. You need a wiring diagram to look for the common point of failure.

The battery is new and it cranks like crazy also when I jump the F pump relay at 87 and 30 terminals the F pumps turn on and I can hear a gurgling fuel sound in the intake but still no firing.
With brand new F pump relay in the F pumps do not turn on and no gurgling sound in the intake. Just a humming sound in the engine, sort of electrical sounding, but not while jumping the relay. How does one check the COIL? This souns like an electrical issue because of the sudden death syndrome and the climate control weirdness. Am I on the right path?

Are you getting any spark at all? Pull a plug wire and stuff a spare plug in it and ground the steel side of the plug. Have someone cycle the key off then back on to start and see if you get any spark at the plug. Best I can tell from looking at the wiring diagram, you only get about one second of fuel pump if no RPM signal (TDC sensor). Signal from the sensor should be at pins 7&8 of your diagnostic connector. Another test: pull the top off the air cleaner and spray a little starting fluid down on the air flow sensor plate. Crank engine and see if it will start to fire. If it tries to fire, you have a fuel problem. No fire equals ignition problem. Might want to look and see if you have a bad ground somewhere. That can cause all kinds of strange issues. Was any work done on the engine around the time this problem occured?

Itested for spark using an old plug and grounding against the eghaust manifold and there was NONE. So I ordered a new coil and should get it tommorrow if the big Power Black Out ever ends here in the North East!

SUCCESS!
After shipping delays due to the Biggest Blackout in US History, I received my new coil. Cleaned all the terminals at the coil including two grounds with sand paper and installed it. Well, she started right up and it runs pretty darn good! No more erratic stumbling during acceleration.
Also the weird static in the radio is gone and no more climate control problems so far. During this mechanical episode I subcribed to ALDATA for the first time and WOW, is it a great service! Everything you need to know is there on the web, for a fee of course.
