86 300E - Which Serpentine Belt?
I'm going to replace my serpentine belt and I'd like opinions as to which is the better quality part, the Conti at $17 or the Japanese Advantex at $30.53. Has anyone had occasion to use both over the years? Does the Advantex belt last significantly longer than the Conti? Any obvious difference in construction or material?
Thanks, Gary |

Go for the Continental. It is the original and quality is very high. Just don't buy the autozone junk. I got one from them and the original continental after about 150k miles looked better than the autozone after 15K miles. Continental will last for a long time without any problems.
I wonder how you can get it for $17! I usally pay about $28 online and the dealer in my area wants $60! Meza

Meza,
Thanks for the advice. I think I'll go with the Continental. I've used their rubber products (tires) for years on my BMW motorcycle and never had a reason to complain. The $17 price came straight from FastLane, btw. |
