I have a delivery date (mid-June) for a '01 SLK320 6-speed. I'm 5 feet 5 inches tall and was worry about my driving position (too close to the steering wheel). The MB dealers around me have not receive any 6-speeds yet, so I haven't been able to try one for fit. I was wondering what kind of problems to look out for if I remove the arm attached to the clutch pedal and lengthen (by welding) it by one to two inches to move the pedal closer to me?

arnold,
Congratulations on the upcoming baby delivery. I'll bet that with the adjustments available you'll be able to make the car fit you well with no problems. Good luck, Larry |
