Hi All

my sisters family is selling a 400E they- are getting a new E320 - I was thinking of getting it for an extra car/ car for my mother

dealer offer to them in trade was 5K -- car now has 125K -- it is in VG cond. white -- I think gray int.

I always liked this model - very solid and the 400was a strong motor.

what do people think it is really worth -- also what engine number is it.

Any help !!

400E has a 119.975 engine
 

Is the car for sale ? Where are you located.
I MIGHT be interested IF I am close enough to see and drive the car. Got any pictures ?

Details of service problems that have been repaired ?

MB Dealer should have offered more than that, unless there is roughness in appearance or repair problems that must be done before they could re-sell it.

Cam chain and guides are a 100K mile expense that should have already be done.
AC working with no history of needing re-charges.
No engine oil or trans. leaks, good shifting?
No lifter ticking on cold start up.?
These would will be the type of items people (or dealers) will look for.
Along with clean interior and good paint.
