Tom, here's some more information from my archive:

Replacing O2 Sensors

In it they talk about replacing O2 sensors with a less expensive Bosch equivalent generic rather than the Mercedes supplied part, plus the connector rework.

I'm not sure if that's the information you're looking for. I don't know exactly which MB engines this applies to.
