C220 stumbling idle when starting
This 96 c220 with 95000 miles stumbles when starting. The idle moves quickly to 400 rpm I believe mostly when it is warm and the engine has been running. The car recently had a new mas air sensor I purphased form this part shop. That sensor has eliminated the engine lite and a rougher idleing problem with occasional stalling (low rpm when at idle) Spark plugs and the larger gas filter have been replaced. The car running great overall. It never stalls during operation. The only problem is the occasional stumbling with starting. If gas is applied, the stumble can be minimized. What do think could be behind this problem? Is there another gas filter to change by the throttle body? Thanks loads. tom:confused:

I had this problem changed my #1 oxygen sensor on exhaust manifold, I also had a check engine light code p0411. Car started hard when warm, had to press gas

Dear whitie c220, Thanks for getting back to me. the car resides in Ohio where the weather haad been raining or at a pleasant 70 degrees. Since the temperature is now longer 80 or above the car has not stalled once. It should be interesting if the car goes back to her old ways when it gets hot again. Again, thank you very much for your reply. I will make a note of it. Interestingly, this car has no engine lites warning so I assume there is no codes presently despite the stall of the past. farewell whitie c220 :)

I understand this is an older thread but was wondering if the starting issue was ever resolved.
