Double Weber tuning help
1 Attachment(s)
I recently fabricated on my own a custom made intake manifold for my 230.4 to accept two double barrel 40 Weber carburators.
The modification is complete and I consider it successful .The power is really great, much more greater even from the 32/36 DGAV I used to have before.Though I believe jetting it is the most difficult part.I have 32 main venturi with 140 benzin jet and 180 air jet on F16 tubes. Any ideas ? |
I believe ColorTune spark plugs were designed to help you make your decision. You can watch the combustion and learn whether it is rich or lean from the color of the explosion.

This configuration reminds me of a Benz rally car I saw years ago. A hot machine for its class. How about adding some sort of an electronic ignition module? Maybe one with optical points and a hotter coil? Haasman |
You should hook up with an Alfa Romeo group or some such group that deals daily with this type of carb set-up. Maybe the vintage forum of this group since the 190SLs came with a similar carb set-up.
What's the long hose from the intake manifold to the left fender area? Sixto 95 S420 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |
