Brake problem: 1985 500SEL
I do not know if it is the caliper or it needs a bleed:
When I brake, it pulls to the right. If you brake hard enough to engage the antilock system (by the way, where is the unclelock system?) the the wheel locks for a split second and then the pulling stops. After the car has sat for a while, as little as an hour, it starts pulling again. A search made me think that the caliper is getting "hung up". ANy suggestions would be helpful. THANKS!

Sounds like a left caliper is not doing much, most likely the front one.
Could be stuck, or could have air in the line. Has it been sitting in storage recently? Jack up the front, have someone apply the brakes, first very lightly, then progressively harder. Compare how much force is takes for you to turn each wheel. Any notable difference would prove there is braking problem. This could actually be a steering or suspension problem. Most roads have a crown which would enhance the odds of a suspension/steering problem causing a pull to the right. Are your front tires wearing evenly?

I will try the test....THANKS!
No, it does not pull in either direction when it goes down the road. It is a daily driver, my wife drives it now so I am very conscious of things that I have learned to live with and she has not, i.e., I have to fix everything that is wrong with it.

Some suspension/steering problems are more evident under braking, since braking places the components under load.
