How do you remove window switches from 190E Sportline?

Hi,
Can't figure out how to remove window switches located on centre console. On the 124s, one simply removes wood after removing gear shift surround, ashtray and on the 93s and later the storage unit (screw underneath).
I suspect I need to remove the carbon fibre panel which houses the switches and gear shift etc.
Thanks for any help.

Pull up the black surround around shifter with your finger nail. Carefully pry up the carbon fiber panel with a flat head screw driver. Release two clips on each window switch and unplug the wires.

thanks for the info!

Do you recommend a place where to insert the screwdriver so as to minimize damage to surrounding vinyl?

Also, how is the carbon fibre panel held in place?

Thanks again

Use the shifter assembly as a pivot point an just pry it up lightly. It is only held in by a tension clip on each corner.
