belt noise

I recently had my radiator replaced after the neck broke . I then developed some belt noise. The techs said they got coolant on the belt and that is the cause. Does coolant cause this sometimes? Should they not have drained the coolant out the bottom to avoid this?
Thanks

Whatever they did with the coolant probably wasn't as intrusive to the belt as when the radiator broke. Usually loads the belt right up with fluid and it can be noisy for a while after that. A bad tentioner will also do it.

thank you

thanks for the info. I did not lose much fluid when the radiator neck broke. No squealing until after radiator replaced. I just noticed the clamp became loose for no good reason. I asked the tech why a clamp would get loose and he said part of the neck likely was broken-he was right. I will drive and let the noise go away. We have a tech session in 2 weeks so I can replace the belt if still noisy and check tensioner.
