Could anyone please tell me how to access/change the light bulb(s) behind the letters indicating the position of the gear-shift of my 420 SEC (W126) from 1989...?
Thanks in advance, Rémy, Netherlands |

I believe you will have to remove the trim around the shift gate as well as the console panel (wood, I believe). The lamp for the shift gate is plugged into a little socket under the gate itself, on the drivers side at the front (again not 100% sure, but you should be able to see the two little wires going into the lamp socket). Remove from the shift gate and change lamp. Hope this helps..
