W140 - 95 S420 oxygen sensor
Are there any tricks to replacing the oxygen sensor in a 95 S420? And where is it, same general area as a W126 - starboard of the tranny? Alldata suggests that the connector is outside, not under the carpet, but I can't tell what area of the car the image depicts.

One of the easiest O2 sensor replacements! Every thing is under the car.

Did mine last week...
Nothing to it.... 5 minutes top if you have the right tools. I used a 02 socket and long breaker because it was really stuck. 100K miles and never replaced. Car idles a little smoother and I am checking for a gas mileage increase.

Replaced my O2 sensor . . .
about 4 months ago at 105K miles and since then, the gas milage went up to as high as 16mpg city driving. Typically it's 15mpg. Very pleased with that result!

88' 560SEL w/o Warning Light For O2 Failure ! ?
Everyone with a 560 SEL PLEASE respond ! ! ! My 1988 560 SEL
doesn't have a warning light in Dash Console even though MB CD says it has light . The light should be red lensed and have space next to SRS (with other words :#1 starting from right to left ) .I don't have this light and when I took out Dash console there was wire with bulb and when I looked through the hole for warning light there is just red lens with nothing written on it !!! Now , how do I know if O2 sensor is bad ?  |
I MADE MISTAKE ON ABOVE THREAD :I MENT THAT WHEN I TOOK OFF DASH THERE WAS NO WIRE!!
