shop manual

I'd like to do some DIY projects but I need a shop manual for my 89 300se. Does anyone have one they'd like to sell or could someone recommend a good alternative on CD.

The factory CDs are widely available, and most seem to have a love/hate relationship with them. Good info in there, if you can find what you are looking for...

Paper manuals are better, but the factory ones are pricey.

I bought a Haynes manual from the UK, which I usually grab first for most things, particularly wiring diagrams. Some Euro and RHD differences, but pretty close for the most part.
It was under $30 net.

Bentley manual has good overview info, not much use if you actually want to fix anything.

Best of luck.

I finally snagged a set of W124 chassis body manuals from ebay last night for $73. I had been checking ebay regularly, searching under "mercedes chassis". This item was just listed as "mercedes repair manuals" so it may have escaped the attention and bidding that the chassis manuals usually bring. I bought a M104 engine manual from a fellow list member for $60. The last serveral auctions I have seen for both new or used manuals always end up around $60 each.

Score!
Something very nice about the paper ones (like an INDEX!, for example...)

The !!!##$$$$*** CDs are killing me this week, so I am particularly down on them.

I have both the paper manuals and the 123CD. I do prefer the paper manuals. The CD pictures are sometimes worthless and it is so much easier to thumb thru a paper manual then page thru a CD.
