I seem to have a broken driver side window switch. I got as far as removing the face plate around the gearbox, but didn't want to continue because there were a lot cnnections. How do I remove the switch? Do I remove those connections for the window and the switch will come off?

I've replaced the window switch in my 1990 190E it was pretty straight forward. The only wires that were required to be disconnected were the wires that come from the speaker/fader control all others were left connected. Disconnect the wires from the bad switch try to turn the wood plate as much as you can to see and carefully pry the switch out from the bottom. The fader/speaker wires gave me a little bit of a problem since ther wasn't enough slack in the wires on my car. Hope this helps.

There are two clips that hold each switch. Take the wood out (with switches in place, then replace the switch.
