Do a search here, it was explained previuosly....its quite easy. A bud helped me out and I felt dumb as it turned out to be a cake-walk

In a nutshell....remove 2 torx screws on back of bag that hold it on (disconnect battery to be safe)....large allen head bolt (13mm?)holds on the steering wheel; use a hollow bar for leverage, turnsignal stuff will be behind and self-explanatory to R&R...must take off knee bar and headlite switch bezel to get at the plug-in connection.

Defintely a DIY job....and I'm certainly no tech.

jim, I to thought it was easy untill I tryed to remve the torx srews and found that they were blocked with plastic covers.I think they are covers, not sure. I tryed to remove the plastic , but was unsucsessful, being afraid I might brake something that I know nothing about. That brings me hear with my hat in my hand, hoping some kind, and wise tec might help me before I have to tell my brother inlaw the truth, that I don't know what I 'm doing. steve

I have never seen or heard of a MB with caps over the airbag bolts. Could be some owners or dealers version of a theft prevention device.

Careful what you ask for, especially when asking for a "wise tech" as you may find wise could be followed with a 3 letter word.

Dr.D makes a good point regarding the access holes on the back side of the steering wheel. If the holes are covered or blocked by a hardly ever seen, weird "Airbag Anti Theft Device" than all I would be able to offer you is my air saw.

If you are unable to insert a 100mm long T-25/T-30 (unable to recall at the moment) to remove the bolts securing the airbag than the vehicle owner may need to purchase a replacement steering wheel.

Things that you make you go............Hm!

So before I use an air saw, I guess I could go after the two plugs with alttle more gusto, They are set into the wheel 1.75" I can pry with dental tool. I'm really not that sure this is the way to go. Maybe somone else has an idea? anyone? steve
