Seatcover/pad options on a '73 450SE + UPDATE
Looking to replace my seatcovers & pads, front & rear, in my 450SE. Leather would be nice, but probably would cost more than I paid for the car (and THAT'S a long story!) so I'm really thinking more along the MB-Tex line... Or, aftermarket.
The catalogue I have from Performance Products has MUCHO info on later S-Class covers, but nothing back to the W116 era. Can anyone help me with a good resource? Will the covers for other MB models fit my W116? Thanks in advance for your consideration!;) p.s. The guy who ripped me off via the tampered-with odometer is STILL IN JAIL! He's fighting extradition to Arizona, has been charged with 4 felonies here in Oregon, & I go to the Grand Jury next Tuesday to testify. The ADA says the charges would probably result in a 13 month jail/prison sentence. Does anyone know whether AZ has bail bonds? This guy is wanted as a fugitive on an $88.5K bail in AZ and I'm wondering if there may even be a reward out for him from a bail bondsman? Since I effectively caught him, it sure would be a nice way for me to recover some of my loss, eh? |
Hi,
I am actually also looking for the same thing as you. I have a 126 and am looking for seat covers. I just got off the phone with the local Merc dealer and they have covers for my car for $379.50 which really isn't that bad (MB- TEX) considering that is the dealer, so I am going to look online a little bit more (been looking for a while) and see if I don't I'll just get them from the dealer. Call your dealer up and see what they have for you car. And let us know if you get a good deal, it may be cheaper in your state, I am in New Jersey, the $$$$ state. |
Would that be...
...$379.50 for both FRONTS & REAR in MB-Tex?
If so, that would be right up my alley, if they have any for a W116 Series. Please advise! |
No way, gotta be for one front seat unless prices have fallen DRAMATICALLY in the last year.
I've had covers priced at $500 each for the W108 (in leather) -- I ended up making my own. Vinyl "test" fit covers are currently installed, and look nice except for the rather "electric" blue. Tour the u-pullit junkyards, interiors in fair to good shape aren't uncommon. There were two W116s in the local one, one with a decent condition MB-Tex navy blue interior last time I looked. Doesn't take long to strip the seat covers off if you don't want to take the whole seat. Peter |
