#$%^#$%@^*%$! *a rant*

So being the poor college student that I am, I don't have a lot of money to throw into my 300e. After saving up and setting money aside I finally had enough money to buy a set of euro lamps and clear corners for my car. Now mind you this are not the standard euro's, but the black smoked ones (same goes for the corners). I buy them from a lady in germany via ebay, she ships them UPS Express so it would recieve it in 2 days from her place in germany. Come to today....package is said to have been dropped off at my house. I go outside...no package...call UPS 5 different times to finally get someone to tell me that it was infact delievered to my house, and the driver had left it on at the front door...

SOMEONE STOLE MY EURO LAMPS!!!!

I am freak'n pissed right now.

So I get the joy of having a tracer done, then when they can't find the package, a claim has to be filled, then I have to wait for the shipper to get credited the money, so I can get my lamps sent to me again....

I hate ups

well, **** happens...what can you do...

conversekidz 09-12-2003 03:59 AM

only thing I can do...file a claim with UPS and make them pay for a new pair.

Makes me feel a sense of pride that I work for FedEx...

Actually, I usually have packages sent "signature required" so they don't get left at the door. Otherwise, I get them shipped to my job.

I forgot once and had a DVD/VCR unit shipped to my house. The UPS guy left it there for all to see.

Now generic brown packages I don't mind, but this was shipped in the original "full-color" carton with TOSHIBA VCR-DVD PLAYER in plain sight!!!

It's amazing it was waiting for me at the door!

Needless to say, when I ordered my electric bass off the web, I chased down the UPS truck and picked it up directly from him...I wasn't going to chance it that he would leave that at the doorstep!

Sorry about the loss of the lights.

If a package is shipped to you via UPS does the seller send you the tracking number? I would insist on getting at least that or see if you can set it up so the package has to be signed for when it is delivered. At least with the tracking number you can go to UPS.com and redirect it for pick up.

By setting up it this way I avoid paying "trust and ignorance tax."

I'm surprised. UPS tried delivering stuff a few times, but wouldn't leave it on my porch. Nobody's home during the day. Instead they left a note saying that they would try delivering the next day. I usually ask them to hold onto the package for my pickup. It's inconvenient, but I think it's simply more secure this way.

Yeah, UPS screwed me over as well once. I bought a Marantz CD player off Ebay and had it shipped UPS. They left it out on my driveway of all places. Then it started to rain. By pure luck, my neighbour saw it and he took it inside before it was totally soaked. When I opened it, not only was it wet but the box had sustained a strong blow that had punctured the box, cut through the insulation surrounding the unit and dented the top of the CD player.

I fixed the dent, dried it out with a hair dryer and thankfully it worked. But man, was I pi$$ed at UPS!!!!

I just got off the phone with UPS, there is a tracer being done right now, I should hear back from them on monday.

It irritates me because one of my headlamp buckets was damaged because the light was not installed properly and it melted down the back of it. I was pulled over for having a dimmed headlamp and the cop was nice enough to let me go with out a fixit ticket. I am just worried I am going to get pulled over again and have to pay a ticket.
