Hey, guys--

Although driving sans blinkers seems to be the norm in Boston, it makes me a little nervous.

Can you tell me what could have caused my blinkers to quit? I get nothing: no clicking sound or flashing. Fuses and relays seem fine; windshield wipers, horn, etc. all work properly. Could part of a relay have gone?

You were all very helpful the last time I posted. Thanks again!

Rachel

I'm not a mechanic, but maybe your flasher is bad.

A bad flasher is one of the reasons. It is an electronic flasher. More command cause is the hazard light switch assuming your fuses are okay. It is either dirty or burned out. Try to switch on and off the hazard switch few times to see if you can get the turn signal lights to function. Do you remember anyone playing with the hazard switch lately? The switch is easy to replace and cheap ($20??)

David is right on the money. Most of the time, someone hits the hazard button by mistake. And it sticks in the middle. Try this first.

Rachel, Benzmac was right on the money with mine. :) I sat a soda on the console and apparantly hit the button. It was stuck in the middle. Was certainly nice to find out that was it, as I was all ready to take the console apart. Good luck...

Supergirl,

I don't know where the hazard warning button is located on your car. On my 123 cars it is in the console and subject to getting dirt, spilled coffee, etc. into it. It is easy to replace, but as previous posters said, operate it a few times and see if the problem goes away.

I bought a new switch some time ago, only to fix it by actuating it a few times. I now have an extra switch.

Good luck,
