Scan Tools

I have a 1995 C220 and am in the process of purchasing a 2004 C230 Kompressor. I would like to purchase a scan tool. Is the 1995 C220 OBDII compatible.

Not really. I've never had any luck with the generic OBD2 scanner pre 1999. However, I know a man with a IScan, multiplexer and cables for sale reasonable.

To a point it will, it does have limitations and some of the code definitions are flat wrong. Overall its a fairly versitle tool.

I use BR-3 interface for my 1995 C220.
The Windows version software does not work but the DOS version works.

I can get some basic data from OBDII such as rpm, AMM, coolant temperature, calculated load...etc. Should be able to pull DTC. Since my car is free from trouble now, I got "0" in response.

It's only $88 for the interface. Software is free download from website.
