190e Should fuel pressure regulator hold vacuum?

'91 190e 2.6--

Should the vacuum port on the fuel pressure regulator hold vacuum if testing with a MightyVac? As of now, mine doesn't. There isn't any fuel leaking out of the vacuum line but it does smell and "taste" like fuel.

Also, what does the EHA do and how do I test it? I have a small bit of fuel pooled on the back side of it near a tiny hole between the two mounting screw heads.

thanks,
bruce

I don't know - but it is more a 'vent' port than a vacuum connection. It connects to the breather tube, and as such is not a component in the manifold vacuum array. I.e., it will not cause any mixture metering error. My guess is that your test produced normal results.
