Is yours missing? When we purchased our 300TE, someone had removed and replaced the carpet lining on the tailgate and trapped the strap behind it. It looked like it was missing but was there just waiting to be released!

No, part of it was eaten by the PO's puppy!

I had to order mine from the dealer. Which he had to get from Germany. While waiting for the new strap to arrive, I removed the old one and was able to cut off the torn end and re-punch it. Re installed it and it is as good as new. Unfortunately, the new strap was a special order so I had to take it (typical dealer). If you need a burgundy colored strap I would send it to you.

Ed,

I actually just need the part number but If you don't have that, I'd be interested in the burgandy one so at least I had one until I get a grey one. Do you have the part number? If no, let me know how much you need for shipping.

Thanks,

Don

Dear Don,
My EPC for the w124 comes up with this number:

Group 74 - rear panel door :
"Loop on rear panel door interior part - code 844"
Partnumber 123 740 00 86

and as usual for an interior part, there is a footnote - No 904 -
giving the color in function of the interior number.
For a gray one it's No 7095 going together with interiors with color code 068 / 178 / 268 / 278 / 378 / 968.
Check out your code : Mb color codes and MY eyes don't allways
agree!
Hope this will help you out?
Good luck,
Danny

Danny,

Thanks, that was exactly what I needed. It's too late for me to return the W210 loop but that is OK. The W210 loop is made out of leather instead of MB Tex and they're the same price anyways.
