If I use the topsider to change the oil in my 400E will it work? The capacity is 2 gallons which is 8 quarts, the M119 engine in my car takes 8.5 quarts. Will the remaining half quart just not drain or when I disconnect the tube will it explode oil everywhere?

Yes. It will work. Could you explain the physics of exploding oil to me?:cool:

Hmmm, well, on my Topsider, I don't disconnect the tube; just withdraw it from the dipstick tube. If the Topsider doesn't get it all (and frankly, it may because I think it holds 2.5 gallons, but I'm not sure if the ullage will have enough vacuum to get it all out), you can always do it in two lifts, no?

I havn't bought one yet, but I was just worried about what the pressure might do to the oil left remaining.

There is no pressure; it use a vacuum to suck the oil out of the engine into the can.

If you are concerned about getting as much of the oil as possible out of the engine, suck the topsider about half full, dump that into the disposal container, reinsert the tube, pump up the topsider and let it draw off the remainder.
