I have a 79 300 SD.The engine occasionally lopes or rocks at idle.
I have read about the rack dampner adjustment. Although I have not been able to find the adjuster. Could my Timing pump be to old to have one? |

Yes, the first year to get the rack dampener is the 1980 300SD. There was a service bulletin telling to retrofit the new backing plate onto the old pumps.
If your interested I'm sure I've got a used pump backing plate with a dampener. ------------------ Steve Brotherton Owner 24 bay BSC Bosch Master, ASE master L1 26 years MB technician |
