When the outside temp is above 80 degrees with the a/c on max blower and at the coldest setting, the center vents blow cold air but the side vents and defroster vents blow hot air. What can done to rectify this situation?

Find out why the heater valve isn't getting the vacuum signal from the control valve. Many possibilities.

Two things that I am aware of will cause this...One is a vacuum leak (one common source is the vacuum line that goes under the battery tray)
The other thing is the potentiometer that is in the dash.
