removing tranny tomorrow some questions

I got My 86 Euro500 SE up in the air ,got tranny jack ,drive shaft out , wireing disconected but can't figure out how to remove the dark yellow plastic peice on the passenger side of tranny that the bowden cable and red vacum tube go into. Also when I dissconected the red vacum tube I found it was plugged at the top with a metal screw I don't know it's funtion or where it should hook up on top the engine? I am going to replace flex plates front and rear seals and transmission mount, should I think about replaceing the front shaft bearing are they apt to wear? could that be the cause of the leaking front seal and can it be replaced easily ? Thanks...........
William Rogers.......

William it is my experience that the front seal just starts leaking after alot of miles. I think I would leave the bearings alone although I will admit I am not exactly sure which bearing you are referring to. I would drop the tranny with the bowden cable/red vacuum tube attached. You may want to go ahead and change the engine rear main seal if it is a single piece unit (versus the one like in the 617.xxx engines.
