I have a brand new exhaust sytem from the exhaust pipe back. I am convinced that I have an exhaust leak somewhere between the exhaust manifold and the end of the exhaust pipe. I say that I am convinced because at idle with the wind on the nose and running the HVAC fan, I can smell exhaust fumes in the cockpit. Darned if I can find it. Short of making a batch of soapy water, spraying it on the components cold, and then starting the engine and have someone seal the tailpipe, I am at a loss as to what to try. Never been faced with this one.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

I guess this is on the G-wagen. I had this too and it was the little boot that goes on top of the transfer case. There is one that you can't see because it is under the big tray in the middle of the vehicle.
