rear main seal-transmission side gaskets
i have a leak in some of the tranny side gasket/seals.
since the tranny has to be dropped to fix, i'm going to have the rear main seal replaced at the same time. question- can anyone tell me what the repair book lists as hours to do the job? i don't want to take a screwing on labor and be charged more than i should be. anything else i should do while there? thanks peter

I don't know how many hours the book says, but I had my rear engine (crank) seal replaced last week, which is basically the same job, and it took my mechanic 4.75 hours, including the replacement of the front transmission seal.
