W202 instrument panel - unplug speedometer cable before removing?
 

I am going to pull out the instrument panel on my dad's '99 C230 to replace some bulbs. I know that on earlier models you are supposed to remove the speedo cable first.

Is this necessary on a W202 or are the speedometer and odometer fed via electrical wires instead of a cable?

The w202 does not have a speed cable. Just unplug all of the wires. ;)
