ASR problem and rustproofing

Hi everybody, I need some help with an interminte problem. My
ASR light stays on during cold start up. Of course then I'm in limp home mode. If I turn the engine off then it is like I reset everything and can then restart with no ASR alarm lite on the dash. Everything is back to normal and I drive off. Where should I begin to look for this kind of problem...or just send it in to be scanned.

Also, A side to the above...has anybody ever had their car rustproof...ie Krown rustproofing...petroleoum based...supposed to have no effect on electronics etc....I'd like some input if possible
everything appriciated....

thanks:eek:

A good rustproofing job should not cover any electronics or wiring connections under the hood.

I had my say on rustproofing in the Open Discussion forum here.

I saw a guy on TV talking about an electronic rust prevention system for cars. I think it is like the galvanic protection they use on bridges, underground steel tanks, etc. Does anyone have experience that with type of system? I was thinking of getting it for my 1985 300D. I drive on dirt roads everyday and there is no way for me to keep the car clean, so I am worried about rust.

I had my two cars rustproofed by myself last fall, now it's time to do it again, it is very easy.

I bought 4 litres of Krown T-40 rust proof agent, then just used a spray gun and an air compressor, sprayed my cars on my driveway. I took me 1.5 hour to do 2 cars, I used only half of the T-40 that I bought, a goggle and a respirator were necessary, 2 jack stands and 2 ramps were used to raise the car.

There was some dripping, it's not a big deal since I covered driveway with some card board.
