starter doesnt work did search. help?
 

hello all

I need some help. I justdid anengine swap on my300td. but now the starter wont engage I jumped the small wire to the positive witch caused the starter to engage. so heres my question. thisd points to the nuetral safty switch. how do I fix this ,could there be an alinment problem with the switch. My back up lights also do not work the car is a 300td turbo diesel 1984 .

Loosen the two bolts holding the neutral start switch to the transmission and turn the switch until the starter and reverse lights work.

Hi there,
Also, make sure the cable is plugged into the switch! This could have been overlooked, and would cause both of your symptoms.
