88 190E AT transmission problem....please help :)

I stopped at a light and when I went to drive again....my car would not go forward. The car drives in reverse, but will not drive in any forward gear postions...D/2/3. Any thoughts? Are there any adjustments that can be made to solve this problem or is my only option a rebuilt transmission. Thanks for your thoughts.

Walt

I have read on this site several times where these symptoms indicate a bad trans.

Keep us posted,

Haasman

B2 piston. Costs about $100. Can be replaced without disassembling the trans. Very common failure on 722 trans.

Unfortunately the 722.4 tranny often breaks the band itself, not the piston.

How does it break? Does the latch clip fail?
