A Rare 500E?
 

I was looking in the door jam of my "fun wagon" and I noticed the build date was 08 / 91. Is this car one of the first made? Apparently Dean "2phast" (on his website) says there were no 500E's imported into Canada in 1992. My car says in the jam it is certified for Canada and the dash is in Kilometers. Maybe a rare MB's executives car? From Europe? I guess I have some studying to do. Any thoughts? Cheers!

No 1992 500E's in Canada? I have seen several for sale over the years, and my cousin owns a 1992 500E.

Hey Shaun: Don't blame 2phast! The quote from need2speed is:

"The 500E/E500 was available in Canada for the 1993 and 1994 model years and only 45 vehicles were imported."

While I got those dates and numbers from MBCanada a few years ago, I've heard from others like you that have 92 and 95 Canadian W124-036 cars. I'd like to change the posted info once I find a more reliable source. :)

spotted a 199/040 '92 500E at MB North Vancouver the other day.

Umm, just to clarify, "2phast" is my handle and I have not posted any data about 500E's, although I used to own a 300E a few years back.
