190e keyon/engine off values

Hey fellas,

Posted this earlier but decided the post name was not correct, so here it is again.

I just checked the keyon, engine off value at pin 3 and the reading keeps giving me a solid 30.7. From what I can find here it seems that reading should be a steady 70, for a federal car.

Is my car trying to tell me something? If anyone knows this code it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Josh

Thirty is seventy!!

You are reading duty cycle, it is all a matter of point of view. Is the cup half full or half empty OR is it 30 percent full or seventy percent empty.

Good enough for me, thanks a lot Steve!

If you want to read it right, just reverse the leads. Place the positive lead in #2, and the negative in #3. That should give you the 70.
Read from that point on. And make sure of it.
Example:
If you read 30 (KOEOff), any fault values will be opposite on the fault codes table once the engine is running.

You may get a fixed 70% and start looking for what it means, when in reality your fault code is a 30%.

An example of fault codes:
70% - No TD/TN siganl. Open circuit in wiring at KE unit.
30% - Coolant temperature sensor faulty.
