W210 Suspension Coil Spring Compressor

Anyone have the M-B tool number for their W210 chassis coil spring compressor? Or the name of compressor's manufacturer?

Does the W210 compressor work on W124 vehicles also?

A group of us purchased a Klann spring compressor. Take a look at this site as you will see it works on both your model, the 124 and several others. Good luck.I

Found this on WIS....

* Compressor cylinder (M-B calls it a clamping device) - 202 589 01 31 00 or 202 589 02 31 00.

* Pressure plates - 202 589 14 63 00 or 202 589 13 63 00.

Per WIS, Model 140 uses pressure plates 202 589 14 63 00; models 170, 202, 208 and 210 use 202 589 13 63 00.

All models use clamping device 202 589 01 31 00; Model 210 can alternatively use 202 589 02 31 00.

It doesn't state the manufacturer but it looks like Klann from the images.

Klann offers several compressor cylinders, which differ in compression range and working travel.

The unit with the greatest M-B application is the KL-0025-1 kit, which includes the cylinder with overload protection system (KL-0025-100), pressure plates size 1 (KL-0025-11) and pressure plates size 2 (KL-0025-12). Fits W116, W123, W124, W126, R129, W140, W170, W201, W202, W208 and W210.

M-B dealer quoted $486 for the cylinder and $179 for each pressure plate set ($844 total).

Samstag is asking $869 plus shipping for kit KL-0025-1 K, which includes the above listed tools plus plastic case (KL-0025-1090).

Klann now has a small presence stateside (but no U.S. website)... will check their price.

Anyone know a cheaper source?
