Help identify car this part is from...
 
000 141 12 25 (Idle speed air valve)

Found on my 1989 560 SEL. Does not appear to fit and the part number for my car appears to be 000 141 16 25.

That number is for an idle valve for 380SL, 380SEL, 500SEL.

That explains my bad idle. Strange how someone would juryrig something like that.

The cost of the replacement part probably caused the PO to snatch one from a salvage yard just because it "looked" right.

put the electrical tape on it the way they had it. Although I'm sure I could do a better job....
