83' 500sl. I got this car in January and am slowly but surely solving all the problems.(with much help from all of you) The car seems to have many new front suspension parts. The problem is, when at speed, even on a highway the slightest right turn makes the car feel as if it is about to roll over. In a left turn the car handles great, very flat and no hint of push. My guess is some suspension piece (anti dive) is missing. Otherwise something needs a radical adjustment.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Don't neglect tires as a possibility. A broken belt in a front tire can really cause havoc.

Check both of the front struts. One may be blown. Also have the anti-sway bar mounts checked.

Is there a way I can tell if the strut is gone while it is on the car? The car doesn't really ride that bad but I know the spring does much of the work. Also would it be the left strut since this occurs when turning right?

Marc, push down on the left front corner of the car. Get it going up and down, then stop your pushing, the car should return to neutral with no more than a couple of inches of overshoot. If this doesn't happen, then your strut is shot. This is a rough way of doing it, but the way you describe your problem, should be a dead giveaway..

Looks like the strut is OK, I'll have to check the sway bar mounts next.
