Is there a Jaguar forum like this one?

My girlfriend has the bug to buy a used Jaguar S-type. I'd like to research some common problems on this model so I know what she's getting into and what common problems to look for.

She works for Ford Mo Co and can't consider a Mercedes.

The best one I have found is
Jag-lovers.com

The best buy in used Jags is to buy a select edition from a dealer -- this warranty from Jag is the best in the industry. Make sure to price the XJ 6 or 8 they are great cars and can be a better buy than the S-Type

An XJ-6 is definitely the way to go. Absolutely a great car. Reliable, quirky, overall very much a quality luxury car with some character. Similar to but different than a Mercedes E-Class.

True on ALL counts!

Surfed this site endlessly when we purchased our 92 Select Edition Convertible XJS V12 years ago.

It has since been replaced with the SL...

Only tip I would have is to never, never let the car overheat! Dropped valve seats could be pretty expensive!

Interesting.... I told her it looks like a part of the female anatomy! So it sounds like the XJ6 is the way to go. It's gonna be a tough sell - she wants the latest style. You know how it is with women.... they prefer style over function.

On another note, whatever car she chooses will have a tough time living up to her 98 Escort ZX2. That car has been incredibly trouble-free for the 110K she's owned it... the most trouble-free car I've ever taken care of.

I saw in a recent edition of CAR that Jag has updated the S type, A new designed rear, I am sure of. The front I think is also modified. Not sure in how many months it will be available. Probably also some driveline and interior improvements.

I also read that Formula 1 driver Mark Weber just ordered a S-Type R (?).
