Installation of Front H&R springs on 2003 C-Class

To any qualified mechanic,

My friends and I are having trouble installing the front springs on my 2003 C230K sedan. We are having trouble removing the springs of the struts. We are trying to remove the metal sleeve in between the plastic piece and thread. This is pretty urgent......I took the front suspension the the local MB dealership and the technician was scared to even touch it......I don't get what the deal is so many people have lowered there cars before.....I just need a procedure i can follow....

Thanks,
mig888

Urgent Caution!

Are you using a spring compressor?

Urgent

The springs have been compressed and the struts still dont wanna come out. I don't know what is wrong....Like I said were trying to remove the metal sleeve in between the plastic piece and thread. The rears were done quickly but the fronts were taking too long.

Please be more specific regarding:

"trying to remove the metal sleeve in between the plastic piece and thread"

Are you talking about the top of the shock where it attaches to the body?

I believe were are having trouble removing the original springs of the struts. I worked on the rears and my other two friends did the front. Ill have to PM you, i need to get more detail from them. BTW check your PM.

Thanks
