I stripped my factory system from the headers back and replaced with a ss system from TimeValve. I found a second cat right at the header which was supposedly there because it was originally set-up for California Emission standards. I left it out when I installed my TimeValve system, using only the single cat that came with the new system.
The idle is not what it once was, more rumblely, throaty with a slight stutter during idle. Question: Anything I should do regarding fine tuning the timing/carb/air/fuel ratio set-up? p.s.-All injectors are new |

You should have the fuel mixture checked by the use of a lambda tester. The changing of the exhaust did change operating temperatures of the engine and fuel mixture.
This should help. ------------------ Benzmac: Donnie Drummonds 1992 500E (very soon I hope 1981 280GE SWB ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN SERVICE MANAGER FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM |
